DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SUMMARY:
Carry out clinical and administrative duties in conformance with standardized techniques and to provide quality patient care.
Assist cardiologist or interventional radiologist in diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.
GENERAL:
- Greet, guide and check patient particulars to ensure correct procedure for correct patient.
- Assist in ensuring smooth day to day operation and excellent patient experience.
- Perform nursing assessments to gather data, identify the patient’s needs for the period of care.
- Documents assessments, delivery of care and response to care in the medical records.
- Responsible for assisting physicians during consultations.
- Collaborates with physician and other health employees in coordinating the plan of care (prescriptions, test results or reports, follow up instructions, next appointment, charges, safe keeping of documents etc).
- Perform phlebotomy duties or administer drugs as per physician order.
- Ensures accurate documentation and safe keeping/record of DDA drugs.
- Involve in daily emergency trolley and defibrillator check to ensure all drugs and equipment are in place with valid expire date.
- Involve in maintaining sufficient stock of medical and pharmacy supplies in the department.
- Check all equipment ensuring availability, are in good condition and report any malfunction appropriately.
- Participates in after hour and on-call coverage.
- Ready to be deployed to other department to perform related clinic duties or any assigned clinical tasks.
- Assist in correspondence work which include appointment scheduling, interoffice communication, and external correspondence.
- Provide assistance in data entry of the department.
- Ensure proper assimilation between hospital personnel.
- Carried out all duty and task given by the HOD either administrative or clinical.
NONINVASIVE:
- Asist or perform diagnostic procedures as in standard operating procedures of the department.
INVASIVE:
- Perform preprocedural duties consist of checking clinically important aspects related to patient entering into the cathlab.
- Strictly adhere to all principle of aseptic technique and sterility.
- Demonstrates the ability to function in all aspects of procedures which include scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording of procedures.
- Assist as part of a team to provide support to cathlab procedures as needed.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION:
- Assist in the orientation of newly appointed staff.
- Guide and direct activities of staff as they perform tasks.
- Participate in training and education programs.
QUALITY:
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives to improve processes and outcomes.
- Complete annual education requirements.
EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATION:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing with valid Annua Practising Certificate
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Post qualification nursing with working experience more than 2 years in catheterization laboratory.
- Able to work in a multicultural team.
